Thursday, Septemeber 22 (Happy Fall!) from 4-7pm I will be pouring beers crafted by the dudes up at Dark Horse Brewing!

Picture
These guys are still brand new to our market, so let's give them a warm Franklin welcome!

Right now, I want to give you an idea of what you'll be tasting today:

Crooked Tree IPA
(Year-around) India Pale Ale clocking in at 6.5% abv, this is the brewery's top selling beer. While very balanced, you get a lot of flavors from both the hops and the malts: pine, citrus and grapefruit balanced by a malty, caramel backbone. It's easy to crush a couple of pint of this one! Not that I would know.... :)

Smells Like A Safety Meeting

(Seasonal) An India Pale Ale that focuses more on the hop aroma, this 8.5% abv beer was once known as "Smells Like Weed", but as you can imagine, the beer board wouldn't let that one slip by. This beer still sees a healthy dose of bittering hops, but the stars of the show are the late dosage hops, also known as "hop bursting". This beer sees not one....but TWO dry-hopping sessions! You definitely need to smell (oh, and taste) this one.

Sapient Trip Ale
(Seasonal) Wanting to break the mold of boring summer seasonal brews, Dark Horse brewed a 9.5% abv Belgian-style Tripel that showcases the complexity of the Belgian yeast strain. Notes of banana and clove on the nose and palate lend to the mouth filling body of this brew making it dry and refreshing. An easy drinker at the higher ABV!

Too Cream Stout
(#2 in the Stout Series) Cream stouts, aka milk stouts, see an addition of lactose in the brewing process lending the beer a creamy mouthfeel with a touch of sweetness. This 7.5% abv beer envelopes both of those qualities along with a roasted coffee and chocolate backbone finishing in an earthy hop bitterness that melds well with the malt bill. It's Fall, ya'll. Time for some dark beer!

Crooked TheraTree
(Draft / 2016 IPA 12pk Special Release) A black IPA clocking in at 8.5% abv, this beer is for the IPA lover who is ready to go dark for the season. Notes of roasted and black patent malt establish a stage for the piney, resinous hops that encompass this bad boy. This is one of my favorite style categories, so I will definitely be leaving with a growler this evening!
Alright, boils & ghouls!

All of these beers are killer and if you're free from 4-7pm tonight,
come see me at Red Dog in Franklin and I'll pour you a sample!

Free. Beer. Does it get any better than that? :)

Cheers!
