Who is Lana?
Lana is from Jackson, TN currently residing in Nashville. She has been working with craft beer since 2008 while working in her family's package store. Lana is the Craft Beer Manager at Red Dog Wine & Spirits in Franklin, TN. She is a certified beer server and studying to become a certified cicerone. She's also a part of the Battleground Podcast, a Nashville-based pod that talks about professional wrestling. In her free time, she enjoys cycling, yoga, reading thrillers, and anything Halloween/Horror related!
Why should you pair craft beer & food?
By experimenting & finding the right beer for the right dish, you amplify the flavors not only in the meal but in the beer as well. It is truly an experience like no other (for you AND your tummy)! I also encourage you to savor the experience. Nourish not only your body but your mind too. Think about what you're eating & how the flavors work together. Let those thoughts whisk you away to a new level of dining!
How do you find the right beer for a meal?
It is fun & very rewarding to experiment on your own to find the right beer for whatever you're eating that day, but don't be shy to ask your local craft beer store's employees. Also, I HIGHLY recommend reading Garrett Oliver's "The Brewmaster's Table" if you really want to get a deeper understanding!
Is there a right or wrong beer to match with my food?
